As the Co-Principal Investigator, Dr Pressman will work alongside Dr Sarah F Small (University of Utah) to collect oral histories and analyze archival data with the goal of understanding the founding and evolution of the Eastern Economic Association (EEA). New School co-authors include Nishu Mehrish and Leah Masci, both economics graduate students at the New School for Social Research. The project will focus on the role of the EEA in combating sexism and providing space for pluralism in economics. This project will enhance knowledge about the EEA, how it has shaped the economics discipline’s ideology and how it has supported gender inclusion. It will also provide insight for other economics associations looking to enhance diversity and inclusion. Congratulations Dr. Pressman, Nishu and Leah!
